Instructions to make Dalma:
- Soak dal for 4-5 hours. - Wash the vegetables and cut them all in small sizes.
- In pressure cooker,add dal,vegetables,turmeric powder & 2 cup of water. Cook for 2 whistles.
- Take saunf, jeera, dalchini, kali mirch and dried red chilies in a pan & roast them. - let it cool for some time. then grind them all into a fine powder.
- Now take another pan & heat oil with cumin seeds,mustard seeds,whole red chillies,fennel seeds,fenugreek Seeds & nigella seeds. Mix this tadka to the Dal mixture.Cook for 5 -7 minutes.
- Sprinkle the Dalma masala and switch off the flame. - - Mix it and cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with shredded coconut & coriander leaves.Serve hot with steamed rice.
